34.3.1 Transfer - Transferring from Computer to Display Unit (Send)

This procedure is used when sending the first project to the display unit.

  1. Connect the LAN cable to the display unit to establish the network with the PC installed with GP-Pro EX. (Set up the same network IP address on your PC.)

  2. Turn ON the display unit. The [Initial Start Mode] screen appears. (When using the GP4000 Series, LT4000 Series, SP5000 Series, ST6000 Series, STM6000 Series, STC6000 Series, ET6000 Series, or the IPC Series, the [Welcome] screen appears.) On the [Initial Start Mode] or [Welcome] screen, touch [Agree]. The display unit is restarted.

    • If [Agree] does not display, proceed to the next step.

  3. The [Initial Start Mode] or [Welcome] screen appears.

    • The [Initial Start Mode] screen or the [Welcome] screen is the first screen that appears after turning on the display unit immediately after purchase. After transferring a project once, this screen will not appear.

    • To change the Ethernet settings after transferring the project, do so in offline mode on the display unit.

  4. Set the IP address on the display unit. Touch [Ethernet Setup] to display the following screen with the factory default content.

    • The initial value for the IP address depends on the individual model.

  5. Modify the IP address, subnet mask, and touch [OK].
(For example, First display unit: [IP Address] 192.168.0.1; [Subnet Mask] 255.255.255.0)
Set the IP address of the same network also to other display units.

  6. The confirm restart message appears. Touch [Yes] and the system restarts.
After restarting, the [Initial Start Mode] screen (or the [Welcome] screen) appears again.

  7. On the GP-Pro EX status bar, click the Transfer Project icon and launch the Transfer Tool.

    • When the edited project has not been saved, a dialog box displays to confirm the save operation. Click [Yes] to save.

  8. Confirm the project details in [Project Information].
To transfer a different project, click the [Select Project] button and choose the appropriate project.

  9. Click [Transfer Setting] to display the [Transfer Tool] dialog box. Ensure that [Communication Port Settings] is set to [LAN]. Select the [LAN Auto Setting] check box and click [OK].

You can also open the same dialog box from GP-Pro EX's [Project (F)] menu by selecting [Transfer Project (G)] and then [Transfer Settings (C)].

    • If the IP address is not automatically detected, click [Add] and manually enter the IP address. You can change the port number when using the IPC Series or SP5000 Series Open Box.

    • If you cannot transfer because of firewall or router restrictions, selecting the [PASV] check box sometimes allows you continue with the transfer.

  11. Select each IP address of the display unit to which you want to transfer and click [OK].
When multiple IP addresses are checked, the project is sent to multiple display units at once.

    • If a password is set for sending and receiving projects, a dialogue box opens and prompts you for a password.
If there is one password for sending and receiving parts for multiple display units, you can skip this step by clicking [Continue to Use the Password].

  12. Set the connection key and click [OK]. Click the icon to show the key.

    • The [Connection key settings] dialog box appears only on the first transfer. The first time you transfer, you need to set the connection key.

    • The [Authentication] dialog box appears for transfers from the second time onward. This will not appear if during set up of the connection key you clear the [Authenticate connection key when transferring] check box in the [Connection key settings] dialog box.

    • If you want to change the [Authenticate connection key when transferring] setting in the [Connection key settings] dialog box that appears on the first transfer, edit the setting offline.

    • If you select multiple IP addresses, the project is transferred to one display unit, then the next, in sequence.

    • If a project file is password protected, transfer cannot start until the password is confirmed.

    • If you are transferring to multiple display units, you can skip this step by clicking [Yes to All].
You can cancel the transfer to all units by clicking [No to All].
