 Can I use the start up data created for a SD card/CF card on an USB storage?

The start up data for a SD card/CF card is different from the data for an USB storage.
 
- The data created for a SD card/CF card cannot be used with an USB storage.
- The data created for an USB storage cannot be used with a SD card/CF card.
