Brief

Pro-face, the global leader of Human Machine Interface (HMI) and factory data communication solutions, joined the “Izumi Forest of Life Project” organized by Izumi City, Osaka Prefecture. In this project, Pro-face employees gathered acorns on the office premises and in parks and grew them into 100 seedlings of various oak species, which were donated to Izumi City. The employees also took part in the tree-planting activity at the Tsukushino Park in Izumi City on June 13, 2012.

Pro-face has been holding an “Acorn Championship” at our Izumi Office since 2010 with the aim to expand groves in Izumi City. In the Acorn Championship, employees collect acorns from the office premises or parks and grow them to seedlings at their homes or in the office, competing to see whose tree is the tallest at the end of September the following year. A total of 300 employees participated in the championship between October 2010 and May 2012. They succeeded in growing 700 seedlings from approximately 1,000 acorns.

Since our Izumi Office was certified ISO 14001 (environmental management system) by the Japan Quality Assurance Organization in October 2004, Pro-face has been engaged in activities that heighten our employees' environmental awareness. Our Acorn Championship efforts were acclaimed as a strong point in the inspection for the renewal of our ISO 14001 certification in 2011.

On the day of the tree planting, a total of 20 participants, including Izumi Mayor Hiromichi Tsuji, Izumi city hall officials, and Pro-face employees, planted the seedlings. Mayor Tsuji presented Pro-face with a certificate of appreciation.

Based on our corporate slogan “Pro-face for the best interface”, Pro-face attempts to be the best interface with the community and global environment in addition to creating products that embody this slogan. We will continue to participate in Izumi City’s Forest of Life Project as well as our projects for growing seedlings and planting trees.
