The number of characters that you can register in a file path depends on the items.

1) Up to 250 characters for the specified items such as "Save as", "related documents", "Open", and "Drag-and Drop".
2) Up to 255 characters in double-byte characters for links of the device information and of the symbol information .
3) The maximum length for items except 1) and 2) to specify file paths are depending on the system (OS). Up to 260 characters in double-byte characters for Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
