 Is it possible to connect an external device to the GP4100 Series converting USB to Serial communication?



An external device can be connected via USB interface (Type A) in the GP4100 Series using the Expanded SIO feature.

Please use the Digital's USB-Serial (RS-232C) Conversion Cable (Model No.: CA6-USB232-01) for the connection.



MEMO

When using expanded SIO communication, the setting for 5V power supply cannot be configured even if RS-232C is selected for communication method.

The following features are not supported in scripts usingexpanded SIO communication.

When [CF File Operation] or [USB File Operation] is selected:
Delete File, Output File List, Read File, Read CSV File, Change File Name, Write File, Label Settings

When [Printer Operation] is selected:
Send, Label Settings

When [Others] is selected: Application Trigger, Exit WinGP

When [SIO Port Operation] -> [Label Settings] is selected:
CF_ERR_STAT, CF_FILELIST_NUM, CF_READ_NUM, USB_ERR_STAT, USB_FILELIST_NUM, USB_READ_NUM, PRN_CTRL,PRN_STAT
