YASKAWA Electric Corporation

The following table lists the YASKAWA Electric Corporation PLCs, and drivers that are supported by GP-Pro EX.

For details about how to connect to the Display, click the hyperlink in the Driver column to open the manual PDF (portable document format) file for that driver.

Refer to [Pass-Through Function Guide] after checking the system requirements in case to use the pass through function with GP-Pro EX.

When MP Series Ethernet (Extension) Driver is used, the GP-Pro EX Device Data Copy Tool is available. For details, refer to [Device Data Copy Tool Guide.]

Refer to the “MP Series (Extension) Driver” for the difference between MEMOBUS Driver (MEMOBUS SIO Driver / MEMOBUS Ethernet Driver) and MP Series (Extension) Driver (MP Series SIO (Extension) Driver / MP Series Ethernet (Extension) Driver).

MP Series (Extension) Driver

When using the Pass Through Function or the devices below, use the MP Series (Extension) Driver.  These functions and areas cannot be used with the MEMOBUS Driver.

  • S Register (SW00000 - SW08191)

  • O Register (OB00000 - OB7FFFF, OW0000 - OW7FFF)

  • Parameter of Motion Series (IW8000 - IWFFFF、OW8000 - OWFFFF)

  • Extension of M Register (Area of MB40960 - MB65534F and MW32768 - MW65534 can be used.)

The following restrictions only apply to the MP Series (Extension) Driver and not to the MEMOBUS Driver.

  • Communication speed becomes slower compared to the MEMOBUS Driver.

  • MP Series SIO (Extension) Driver allows only one unit to be connected.

  • SIO type of the MP Series Ethernet (Extension) Driver is only Ethernet (UDP).

note

When connecting to an Ethernet, effective communication can be obtained by using both the MEMOBUS Ethernet Driver and the MP Series Ethernet (Extension) Driver.

Outline

Connect 2 drivers, MEMOBUS Ethernet Driver and MP Series Ethernet (Extension) Driver, to the same connection device.  Since the MEMOBUS Ethernet Driver is faster than the MP Series Ethernet (Extension) Driver, it is recommended that devices capable of using the MEMOBUS Ethernet Driver to use it, and for devices incapable of doing so to use the MP Series Ethernet (Extension) Driver so as to maximize efficiency.

Setting

GP-Pro EX sets 2 drivers.  Set the MOMOBUS Ethernet to External Device 1, and set the MP Series Ethernet (Extension) to External Device 2.  Setup each with the following points in mind.

  • Set [Port No.] of [Communication Settings] so that External Device 1 and 2 do not overlap.  To avoid duplication, we recommend that you set [Auto] to the port No. of External Device 2.

  • Set the same IP address to External Device 1 and 2 because [IP Address] of dialog box of [Individual Device Settings] accesses the same External Device.  We recommend that you set “MEMOBUS1” or “MP1”, etc. to [Device Name] of [Device-Specific Settings] for distinction.

How to Use

Select External Device to be used from [Device/PLC] when inputting address.

Select “MEMOBUS1” for the device that can be communicated with the MEMOBUS Ethernet Driver.  In the same way, select “MP1” for devices that can be communicated to by the MP Series Ethernet (Extension) Driver.
