Pro-face Remote HMI is remote monitoring software for smartphones and tablets that makes it possible to monitor and control display devices (operation display monitors) on equipment and facilities in factories and buildings. By using remote management software, you can expect to improve operating efficiency as well as reduce time and cost.
Ascertain alarm conditions and equipment status remotely
It used to be that there was no way to know or control the status of equipment and facilities without being in front of the operating monitor. Now you can monitor equipment even from remote locations using a smartphone or similar device.
For example, if an alarm occurs in equipment or a facility, you can check the status immediately, and by using a smartphone or tablet where the alarm occurred, you can not only perform actions to recover the alarm but also check whether those actions are having an effect.
Generally, equipment in factories and buildings is large, resulting in the location of the alarm being separated from the display device (operation display monitors). For this reason, when an alarm occurs, workers must move back and forth between the location of the alarm and the monitor, or two individuals become necessary, one to perform the work and the other to check the monitor.
By being able to check the status immediately through remote monitoring, all tasks can be performed by only one person, resulting in reduced time and cost. This translates to less downtime (time during which operation is stopped) for the equipment and facilities, which means improved productivity.
Among other benefits, remote monitoring software allows monitoring, including during regular equipment or facility inspections, without having to perform any footwork, resulting in various means of working more accurately when not near where instructions are provided.
Incredibly simple setup
Installation and configuration of Pro-face Remote HMI is also easy. Simply download the software from the App Store or Google Play on an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or any smartphone or tablet running Android OS, and connect to one of our SP5000 Series, GP4000 Series, GP4000M Series, or LT4000M Series display devices (operation display monitor) over a wireless network.
In addition, using Pro-face Remote HMI Server software, you can remotely connect using a typical computer. There's no need for special products or setup, making connecting easy for anyone. To see just how easy it can be done, take a look at the following video.
Remote monitoring capabilities with Pro-face Remote HMI
With Pro-face Remote HMI, remote monitoring can be done in synchronous mode, where the on-site display device and the smartphone or tablet show the same display, or in asynchronous mode, where the displays show different images. An operational occupancy function is included on both the smartphone/tablet side and the display device side to help prevent erroneous operation. Many other useful functions are also included, such as a remote alarm monitoring function that sends out a remote notification when an alarm occurs in the equipment or facilities.
Also, up to 100 display devices can be connected to a single smartphone or tablet, offering sufficient monitoring even in a large factory. Moreover, you can control such things as access control settings and which areas will be displayed on which tablets, making operation of manufacturing site and production facility security friendly. Watch the following video to see more details on available functions.
Example of remote monitoring in action
When is Pro-face Remote HMI used most often? When looking to use remote monitoring to reduce time spent moving around while checking and managing large factories, such as factories producing semiconductors, LCDs, solar panels, automotive products, chemicals, beverages, or food processing factories. The large equipment used in such factories includes presses, printers, lifters and conveyors, transport machines (for example, ceiling cranes), and semiconductor manufacturing equipment such as coaters/developers and wafer cleaning devices. Pro-face Remote HMI offers smooth adjustment after installation to the factory as well as smooth verification after installation, all from a remote location.
Also, Pro-face Remote HMI makes checking of material replenishment timing in painting lines and chemical and food production lines using printing machines, filling machines, agitators, and the like possible without the need to be on-site, all with the goal of improving operational efficiency. Another merit of Pro-face Remote HMI is the ability to reduce downtime by being able to assess a situation remotely. For example, when operating or monitoring frequent movements of multiple devices with only a few workers, such as when using interface control for IC manufacturing processes or cable processing, or when using a variety of devices for assembly, such as with automotive products or semiconductor manufacturing, Pro-face Remote HMI enables workers to remotely monitor equipment and alarms before they even arrive on site.
