Brief

Pro-face, the global leader of Human Machine Interface (HMI) and factory data communication solutions, announced the launch of the GP4000M series, the first programmable graphic operator interface device that can be mounted via a φ22 mm round hole, on September 9, 2011. We estimate sales of approximately ¥4.8 billion Japanese Yen by December 2013, which would be the equivalent of about 80,000 units sold of the two models combined.

The GP4000M Series not only offers a φ22 mm round hole (the standard size for switches and lights) for mounting installation, but also feature a vivid 65,536-color TFT display and interfaces that support serial, Ethernet, USB connections and more. Conventionally, when installing an HMI onto a system, the mounting hole on an operation panel would need to be remodeled for each HMI. The GP4000M series supports φ22 mm round-hole installation, which makes for simple installation on an operating panel, just like a switch or a light. GP4000M eliminates the cost and work time for remodeling the operating panel hole for HMI installation as well as providing a solution for system improvement needs at the production site.

The GP4000M series can be utilized at production sites for packaging, food processing, transportation, and more, to offer enhanced visibility and operability with its clear display as well as communication with control devices via Ethernet or serial connection. This φ22 mm round-hole model was developed to meet our customers’ needs, which is to be able to install an HMI to the necessary location without customizing the mounting hole.
