T.3.2 Touch the panel but a different touch area responds

Does this phenomenon occur with all parts?

Cause

If the switches do not respond properly even after the self-diagnosis in offline mode, the display unit may be faulty.

Solution

When the same phenomenon occurs with all parts, perform the solution in the following section "Can you enter offline mode?"

  1. Select the [Check Touch Panel] option and check that the touched area lights up properly. For the checking procedure, see the following.

  2. Verify the settings, address, etc., of the parts to which the phenomenon occurs. If the phenomenon continues after the check, the display unit may be faulty. Please contact customer support.

Can the display unit enter offline mode?

Cause

If the switches do not respond properly even after the self-diagnosis in offline mode, the display unit may be faulty.

Solution

Conduct the self-diagnosis of the display unit in offline mode to determine whether the problem is in the display unit or not.

  1. For display units using analog touch panel technology, you can correct the analog touch panel (calibration settings). For the setting procedure, see the following.

  2. Select the [Check Touch Panel] option and check that the touched area lights up properly. For the checking procedure, see the following.

  3. If the problem continues after steps (1) and (2), the display unit may be faulty. Please contact customer support.

When the display unit cannot enter offline mode, try the following measures.

  1. The system menu used to enter offline mode may be set not to be displayed. If the system menu does not appear, select [Menu and Error Settings] in [Display Unit] with GP-Pro EX and set the option for [Show System Menu] to show the system menu, and then transfer the project file again.

    If the GP enters offline mode after the project file is transferred, follow the steps for [When you can enter offline mode], as above.

    • When the user memory is initialized, all data other than the system data (OS, runtime, and driver) and the clock setting data is erased. Be sure to back up the data before starting the initialization.
