Pro-face Announces the PS4600 Series 12.1-inch Industrial Computer

Osaka, Japan -October 8, 2013- Pro-face, the global leader in Human Machine Interface (HMI) and factory data communication solutions, is pleased to announce that it will begin taking orders for the PS4600 series industrial computer from October 15, 2013.

The PS4600 series is an industrial computer with interfaces (USB 3.0 and PCI Express (x8)), storage media (CFast), and a CPU (CoreTM i3) enabling high-speed processing that belies its compact 12.1-inch size (display area: 247 mm (W) x 185.5 mm (H)). Conventionally, equipment for image inspection and similar applications requiring high-speed processing necessitated the performance offered by a large industrial computer with at least a 15-inch display. The PS4600 series was developed to meet the need for a compact 12.1-inch industrial computer capable of high-speed processing for use on production work sites manufacturing key industry products such as liquid crystals, semiconductors, batteries, and LEDs.

Thanks to Pro-face's built-to-order production system, the PS4600 series is available in different configurations to suit the needs of the customer, with users able to select a bezel (aluminum) or bezel-less (rear-mount) model; number of expansion slots; type of OS, CPU, storage media, and more. The bezel-less (rear-mount) model is an industrial computer that can be mounted from the rear of an equipment control panel. Conventional industrial computers are designed to be mounted from the front, and have a bezel that projects past the front of the equipment control panel. By offering a computer that mounts from the rear of an equipment control panel to meet the increasing need for design-conscious equipment in the industrial world, Pro-face is now able to provide a mounting method that matches industry needs in terms of equipment appearance and overall control panel design.
