Safety Symbols and Terms
This manual uses the following symbols and terms to identify important information related to the correct and safe operation of display units and GP-Pro EX. The notes and warnings described here identify important safety issues.
Symbols and descriptions are as follows.

The addition of this symbol to a "Danger" or "Warning" safety label indicates that an electrical hazard exists which will result in personal injury if the instructions are not followed. |

This is the safety alert symbol. It is used to alert you to potential personal injury hazards. Obey all safety messages that follow this symbol to avoid possible injury or death. |
|
DANGER indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, will result in death or serious injury. |
|
WARNING indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious injury. |
|
CAUTION indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in minor or moderate injury. |
|
NOTICE is used to address practices not related to physical injury. |

Indicates GP3000 Series and GP4000 Series display units. |
GP3000H |
Indicates the GP3000 Series hand-held GP. |

Indicates the GP4000 Series hand-held GP. |
IPC |
Indicates an industrial panel computer (PS Series, PE Series, or PL Series) and/or PC/AT compatible unit. |
LT |
Indicates LT3000 Series and LT4000 Series display units. |
PLC |
Indicates a programmable logic controller. |
SP |
Indicates SP5000 Series and SP5000X Series display units. |
SRAM |
Refers to backup memory that preserves data even when the display unit is turned OFF. Although the type of backup memory in display units vary from model to model, this document generally refers to it as SRAM. For information on the backup memory used by your display unit, refer to its associated hardware manual. |

About substitution
This manual describes how to use and set up the GP3000 series. If you use models other than the GP3000 series, references to "display unit" and "GP" apply to the model you use. For models that support an SD card or CFast card, references to "CF"/"CF Card" apply to the memory card you are using.
