********************************* GP-Viewer EX V1.00.200 ********************************* March 27, 2008 Digital Electronics Corporation Preface Thank you for purchasing GP-Viewer EX. This GP-Viewer EX is software that allows you to display/operate the display unit's screen on the computer. (1) Operating Environment Windows 2000 (SP3, SP4) Windows XP (SP2) Windows Server 2003 (SP2) (2) Applicable Models GP-Viewer EX is available to the display units with the network interface. In this case, the screen project that has been edited with GP-Pro EX V2.10 must be transferred to the display units. For details on the applicable models, refer to "GP-Viewer EX Operation Manual". (3)History of problems resolved Problems resolved in V1.00.200: 1. When a device/PLC was assigned to "System Area Start Address", it was unable to write to part of the PLC device. Problems resolved in V1.00.100: 1. In the Sampling Settings, Mode tab, if you use the Data Full Bit Address or the Block Completed Bit Address, each bit turns on twice in a row as the condition is satisfied. 2. Even if screen synchronization is set up, when you use Group with Auto OFF in the Bit Switch group function, upon exiting GP-Viewer EX the Auto Off operation is run. 3. When the CPU utilization 100% status is sustained, the application may become the no-response condition or an application error may occur. 4. When a data read/write is made at high speeds by the operations below, the CPU utilization goes up and the problem of the item 3 occurs. - In Word Switch, select "Add Data", "Subtract Data" etc. and check "Continuous Add Feature". When you keep clicking the switch on the screen, the CPU utilization goes up. - With "Read Data From Each Alarm" enabled, change the triggered devices at the same time to read a large number of devices at a time. (4) Limitations 1. Portrait display is not supported. (Do not rotate the display unit.) 2. When using double-byte characters for screen titles, it may not display correctly in the Change Panel switch dialog. 3. Even when an error is recovered, the error display is not cleared. The error display can be cleared only when "Clear on Screen Change" is specified. 4. In Data Display/Text Display, an error will be caused when "Device Type/Address" is specified in the Address Type and "Device/PLC" is used for the Monitor Word Address. 5. In Data Display/Text Display, "Device" or "Device Type/Address" is specified in the Address Type, the display may be different from the server right after the connection is established. 6. Alarm Trigger/Recovered time during the communication uses the time on the Viewer (PC). If there is a time discrepancy between the viewer and the server, the viewer time and the server time will be displayed in mix. When the update screen button is pressed, all alarm data is acquired and all time data is corrected to the server time. 7. When Screen Mode is Asynchronous, and on the Viewer you set "Display", "Clear", or "Clear and Display" for the Block Display Graph's control word, that operation will be repeated. To prevent this, set the screen to synchronous mode and change the server screen to the Block Display Graph screen. For Block Display Graph operations from the Viewer, do not write to the control word. Instead, on the Viewer, from the Update menu, point to Block Display Graph and select "Display", "Clear", or "Clear and Display". 8. Forced screen change is not supported. Even if forced screen change is enabled, changing screens by touch from the Viewer is available. 9. If Global Window is set to "Indirect" and the data format is set to "BCD", the following restrictions apply. When Screen Mode is Asynchronous, moving the Global Window using Add or Subtract buttons to change X or Y coordinates did not operate properly. 10. At high communication speeds, changing multiple bits ON and OFF may not be recognized by the Viewer. The Viewer also may not recognize screen changes at high communication speeds. As a result the Viewer may display different data from the server or reproduces a sound but it recovers on a screen change. (5) Operation Manual Supplement 1. How to set the security level to "0" Do not enter a User ID/Password and touch [OK]. (The security level cannot be set to "0", if the security setting is enabled in "Read GP-Viewer EX Data".) 2. Special Relay Area (LS2071-LS2074, LS2078-LS2095) cannot be written from the Viewer. 3. You cannot open or save the settings file which is already open. 4. Even when the screen mode is set to asynchronous, if the viewer and the server are displaying the same screen, trigger/D-scripts are executed and the server screen may be changed. (At this time, the viewer will not recognize the server screen change because it is asynchronous.) When the viewer is disconnected, check the server screen by pressing "switch to the server display screen". 5. When using a long path for the settings file storage location, the GP may fail in acquiring data from external storage due to operating system path length restrictions. Use short paths for the Settings file.
