Setup to stop HDD
To extend the operating life of the hard disk, Pro-face recommend you use one of the following procedures to turn the hard disk off when the unit is not being operated.
Pro-face recommands a setting of [After 5 mins].

- When running Windows®2000
Set the Windows [Control Panel]-[Power Options]-[Power Schemes] tab's [Turn off hard disks:] selection.
- When running Windows NT®

1. Click on the [Start] -> [Program] -> [System Monitor] -> [System Monitor Property] selections.
2. Set the [System Monitor Property] menu [Mirror] tab's [Turn off Hard Disk] selection.
3. Click [OK] to finish Setting.
4. Make short cut to [System Monitor] in [Start] -> [Program] -> [Startup].
(System Monitor stops hard disks, since Windows NT® does not have a function of hard disk stop.)

-

When System Monitor is already registered into start-up, the error message
"System monitor has started. Terminate the system monitor in Starting"
is displayed at the time of OS starting.
In this case, please delete the registered shortcut in start-up.
