Yoshihiko Yasumura to assume role as President & CEO of Schneider Electric

Osaka, Japan - July 1, 2014 - Digital Electronics Corporation, the global leader in Human Machine Interface (HMI) and factory data communication solutions, is pleased to announce that its President, Yoshihiko Yasumura, has been appointed as President & CEO of Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management.

As a member of Schneider Electric's Global Operations team, Mr. Yasumura will also take on the role of director of Schneider Electric Japan, which oversees the business operations of the Schneider Electric Group and its affiliates in the Japanese market. Mr. Yasumura will retain his current post as President of Digital Electronics Corporation.

Mr. Yasumura joined Digital Electronics Corporation in 1992. After working to expand business in West Japan and Europe, he served as President of Pro-face Europe (Netherlands). He was appointed Vice President of Digital Electronics Corporation in September 2010 and assumed the position of President in January 2011. Mr. Yasumura's appointment as President & CEO of Schneider Electric recognizes the contributions he has made both to Digital Electronics Corporation and the Schneider Electric Group as well as his in-depth understanding of the characteristics and vicissitudes of the Japanese market.

Yoshihiko Yasumura - Profile

Born on September 28, 1963, in Osaka, Japan, Mr. Yasumura graduated from Otemon Gakuin University in 1987. After working at an enterprise software manufacturer, he joined Digital Electronics Corporation in 1992. In his role as the manager of the company's Shikoku and Kyushu block, he helped to expand operations by successfully establishing numerous regional offices. In 2000, Mr. Yasumura took part in the launch of Digital Electronics European operations, and after overseeing the establishment of branches and acquisition of distributors in key countries, was appointed president of Netherlands-based Pro-face Europe, Digital's European Headquarters in 2005. Under his leadership, the Pro-face brand of touch panel displays gained region-wide recognition in Europe. Mr. Yasumura assumed the role of Vice President of Digital Electronics Corporation in September 2010 and was appointed as President on January 1, 2011.
