 FAQ
 Printer Connection

The GP3000 series can be connected to a printer via the COM ,USB or LAN port.
To connect a printer to the GP3000 series via the USB port, there are 4 ways;
1) Connect the printer's USB port to the GP3000's USB port directly,
2) Convert the printer's parallel port to the USB port and connect it to the GP3000 USB port,
3) Use the COM1 port, and
4) Use the LAN port.

NOTE
*
The GP3301 series and the GP3302B series do not have a LAN port.
*
If your model is a GP3750 series, no printer can print the GP screen on 1 sheet as the screen size of the GP3750 is too large.

Printer cables
To connect to the printer's Centronics port, convert the parallel port to the USB port by a commercial USB-PIO conversion adapter and connect it to the GP's USB port.

For the details of the USB-PIO converter, go to the following page.

To connect to a serial printer, D-script programming in GP-Pro EX is required. The print commands can be sent from the COM1 port on the GP3000 series to the printer.

Connecting a printer to the LAN port

IPP (Internet Print Protocol) or LPR (printing service for UNIX) is supported by GP-Pro EX. If you share the printer on the network, you can print the screen image via a LAN network. When the printer without a LAN port is connected, use the printer server or connect to a PC.

In these cases, please refer to the following important notes.

1. LAN connection (network printer) does not support Alarm (Banner) print, Alarm (History) real-time print, Alarm (History) batch print, Sampling data real-time print, Samping data bach print, CSV data print, and Script printer output.
2. Some printers require a few minutes to print.
3.

The supported printer commands are NEC PR series, EPSON ESC/P, HP LASERJET series, EPSON PM/Stylus (6 color ink), EPSON PM/Stylus (4 color ink). Other printer commands are not supported by the GP3000 series.
