M.3.1 Checking the communication settings for the connected device

You can adjust or check the communication settings for the connected device. Set these options so that they match with the communication settings of the connected device. The setup items vary depending on the device being connected.

Serial connection

  1. Go to offline mode and touch [Peripheral Settings] on the item changeover switch.

    • When using GP-4100 series, touch the [Device/PLC] button.

  2. [Peripheral Settings] screen opens. Touch [Device/PLC].

    • When using GP-4100 series, this step is unnecessary.

  3. [Device/PLC Settings] screen opens. Confirm the settings. To change settings, touch the associated item.

* When changing settings, touch [Exit] to save the changes. After saving, the display unit will restart.

[Communication]. Touch this item to adjust communication settings.

[Device]. Use this option to adjust the parameters of each connected device.

When RS-232C is used, you can change the signal for pin number 9.

Ethernet connection

  1. Go to offline mode and touch [Peripheral Settings] on the item changeover switch.

  2. [Peripheral Settings] screen opens. Touch [Device/PLC].

  3. [Device/PLC Settings] screen opens. Confirm the settings. To change settings, touch the associated item.

* When changing settings, touch [Exit] to save the changes. After saving, the display unit will restart.
