If a system file transfer due to a system version upgrade or forced transfer operation is interrupted, the next time the display unit or WinGP is started, dialog boxes or text strings may not display properly. Transfer again to resolve this issue.
Data that is stored in the Display's backup memory (SRAM) will be deleted when transferring a project based on any of the following conditions.
Transferring when the [Backup Memory (SRAM)] in [Initialize] check box is selected in the [Transfer Settings] dialog box in the [Transfer Settings] tab.
When transferring after making changes to the operation log, alarm, sampling, and internal device backup settings
When transferring after selecting [All] in [Transfer Project]
When transferring after selecting [Forced] in [Transfer System]
When sending a different project
When a project is transferred under both of the following conditions, variable values cannot be initialized.
Project on the display unit is the same and you transfer using [Transfer Project] - [Automatic].
In the [Transfer Settings] dialog box's [Transfer Settings] tab, in the [Initialize] settings only the [Variable Value] check box is selected when you transfer.
When sending a project, the necessary system programs, protocol programs, and fonts are downloaded to the display unit. The transfer will take a few moments.
Downloads occur in the following cases:
When you perform transfer when the display unit has no data (factory default)
If the system program (Runtime) version stored on the display unit is older than the GP-Pro EX version.
When old versions of protocol programs (drivers) are stored in the display unit, or when project device/PLC settings have been added or changed.
When a font not in the display unit was used in GP-Pro EX.
When a download occurs, the display unit is reset. After restarting, the transferred screens appear.
When transferring a project created in a version prior to GP-Pro EX Ver.4.09.250 to WinGP (GP-Pro EX Ver 4.09.250 or later), the system program is not transferred.
When transferring a project with many new and edited screens, selecting the [Automatic] option in [Transfer project] may take longer for the transfer operation than if you select [All].
The project files just converted via the Project Converter have a different data structure than the project files saved with GP-Pro EX.
Therefore, when you send project files to the display unit, then save or edit them, and re-send them to the display unit using GP-Pro EX, the system and protocol programs are downloaded. This happens even if you are not changing the system or communication settings.
When the display unit is offline, the project cannot be transferred. However, when [Transfer]-[Transfer Project File] is performed offline, you can perform a transfer.
During the transfer, the display unit changes to Transferring mode and communication with devices/PLCs is suspended.
When a problem is found during the initialization of the system program (Runtime) stored on the display unit, an error message appears on the display unit. Transfer the project file again.
Basically, project files can only be transferred to display units of the same model type. However, the following models can transfer project files interchangeably.
Between GP-3000 series models that do not support control functionality (In the GP-3200 series, transfer is available only for the same model type)
Between GP-3000 series models equipped with an internal DIO board
Between GP-3000 series FLEX NETWORK type models
Between GP-3000 series CANopen type models
Between GP-4201TM, GP-4301TM, and GP-4000M (Rear Modular Type) models
Between LT-4201TM (Module Type DIO), LT-4301TM (Module Type DIO), and LT-4000M (Rear Module DIO) models
Between SP5000 Series Open Box models (When using display other than SP-5700WCD or SP-5800WCD)
Between STM6000 Series models
Between STC6000 Series models
For GP-3300 Series models, when [Revision] is set to Rev*-4 or later, the transfer fails if a model before Revision 4 is used. However, AGP-3310T/3360T models can transfer project files, regardless of revision.
When you transfer a project created in V4.09.400 or later to one of the following models running a version before V4.09.400, the operating system on the display unit is updated. Note that depending on the display unit’s revision, you cannot revert to a previous version. For more details on the display unit revisions, refer to our website.

The following limitation arises after updating.
The Remote PC Application function is no longer available.
When you transfer a project created in V4.09.450 or later to one of the following models running a version before V4.09.450, the operating system on the display unit is updated. Note that depending on the display unit’s revision, you cannot revert to a previous version.
