23.9.2 Procedure - Registering fingerprints online

Register your fingerprint in the password settings and update the EZ fingerprint recognition unit database.

You can login at the set security level when the fingerprint registered in the display unit password settings matches the fingerprint registered in the EZ fingerprint recognition unit database.

  1. In GP-Pro EX, from the [Common Settings] menu point to [Security] and select [Security Password], or click .

  2. Select [Enable Security Function] and [Add User ID].

  3. Sets the security level. Refer to the following for the setting method.

  4. Place the Special Switch to start the fingerprint registration screen on the display unit.

  5. In the Special Switch setting dialog box, select [Special Action] from [Security], and under [Operation] set [Password Settings (Screen Input)].

  6. Among on the displayed setting items, select the [Enable changes to users at current and lower security levels] check box and click [OK].

  7. The project is transferred to the display unit connected to the EZ fingerprint recognition unit.

  8. Touch the placed Special Switch.

  9. In the displayed screen, by inputting [User ID] and [Password], a list of the set security level is displayed.

    • Information indicating the lower-level security of users logged in is displayed. To login again, touch [Cancel] and login once again.

  10. Select the user, and touch [Edit].

  11. Touch [Register] on the displayed screen.

  12. Register your fingerprint following the display screen prompts.

    • It is necessary to register two fingerprints per each user. You will need to place your finger on the EZ fingerprint recognition unit sensor three times to register one fingerprint.

  13. The password setup ends after registering the required fingerprint.

  14. Update the EZ fingerprint recognition unit database connected to the display unit. Set bit 1 for the system variable #H_SecurityFingerprintControl to 0 and turn bit 0 from OFF to ON.

    • Touch operation is not available while updating the EZ Fingerprint Recognition Unit database. However, you can operate the system menu.
