37.10.3.1 Procedure – Sending E-mail

E-mail Settings

  1. From the [Project (F)] menu, select [System Settings (C)] - [E-mail (A)].

  2. Select the [Enable E-mail] check box.

  3. In the [Sender Settings] tab, set up [SMTP Server Name], [User Name], [Password] and [Port Number].

  4. Set up [Sender E-mail Address]. (For example, example@gmail.com)

  5. Select a [Authentication].

  6. Select a [Encryption] according to the mail server.

    • If you select [No Authentication], in order to protect personal information, do not set an email that contains mail addresses that can identify individuals, IP address, and personal information.

  7. If the mail server requires SSL certificate, select the [SSL Certificate] check box and click [Brownse...] button to select a root certificate (*.pem).

    • E-mail can not be sent if the root certificate has passed the certification period. To display the error message in that case, select the [Display Error On Failed E-mail Transmission] check box.

  8. Set up [Control Word Address]. (For example, D100)

  9. Set up [Status Word Address]. (For example, D101)

  10. To attach a file to the e-mail, set up [Attachment File Name]. (For example, D103) Also, set the total file size of attachments.

  11. Open the [Receiver Groups] tab.

  12. Select a row and click [Edit]. The following dialog box appears.

  13. Click the icon for [To] and enter a receiver's e-mail address. Set up for [CC] and [BCC] as required. (For example, ex@gmail.com)

  14. Enter [Subject] and [Body].

    To make part or all of the [Subject] and [Body] variable, click [Input Address] and insert a device address or symbol variable.

  15. Click [OK].

  16. Save the project file and transfer to the display unit.

  17. Enter offline mode.

  18. Open [Display Unit] - [Ethernet] and set up DNS server.

Operating Procedure

Send e-mail

  1. Set up the [Receiver Group] number to the significant 8 bits of the control word address.

  2. Turn ON bit 1 (request to send e-mail bit) in the control word address.

  3. Turn ON bit 0 (start bit) in the control word address. The e-mail transmission begins.

  4. Bit 1 (completion bit) in the status word address turns ON when the operation is complete.

    Confirm that there is not error code stored in bit 12 to 15.

  5. Turn OFF bit 0 and bit 1 in the control word address as well as bit 1 in the status word address.

Send e-mail with attachment file

  1. Enter the file name with its full path in the address specified in [Attachment File Name Word Address]. (For example, \SD\DATA\00001.BIN)

  2. Turn ON bit 2 (request to attach file bit) in the control word address.

  3. Turn ON bit 0 (start bit) in the control word address. The file attachment operation begins.

  4. Bit 1 (completion bit) in the status word address turns ON when the operation is complete.
    Confirm that there is not error code stored in bit 12 to 15.

  5. Turn OFF bit 0 and bit 2 in the control word address as well as bit 1 in the status word address.

  6. Set up the [Receiver Group] number to the significant 8 bits of the control word address.

  7. Turn ON bit 1 (request to send e-mail bit) in the control word address.

  8. Turn ON bit 0 (start bit) in the control word address. The e-mail transmission begins.

  9. Bit 1 (completion bit) in the status word address turns ON when the operation is complete.
    Confirm that there is not error code stored in bit 12 to 15.

  10. Turn OFF bit 0 and bit 1 in the control word address as well as bit 1 in the status word address.
