30.10 Transferring Logic Programs

Logic programs are transferred as part of the project file. You cannot transfer logic programs alone.

Retaining Variable Values

When using the transfer tool to download a project with the same name as on the display unit, and project transfer is set to [Auto] and the Retain retentive variables check box is selected, you can transfer the project while retaining the variable values backed up to SRAM. Variable values are initialized at download if the system settings are different, the project on the display unit is damaged, the Retain retentive variables check box is not selected, or transfer is set to Forced. Variable values are also initialized when [Variable Value] is selected under [Initialize] in the [Transfer Settings] dialog box's [Transfer Settings] tab.

When the variable values are initialized, they are cleared to 0 even if in the [Symbol Variable] common settings [Retentive] is selected. When variable values are not initialized, values are not cleared, and the current values are retained for the variables for which the [Retentive] setting is selected.

  1. Connect the display unit to your PC.

  2. On the state toolbar, click the transfer project icon to start the transfer tool and click [Transfer Settings].

  3. The [Transfer Settings] dialog box appears. In [Transfer Project], deselect [Variable Value] under [Initialize], and [OK].

  4. In the Transfer Tool, click [Send Project] to start transferring to the display unit.
