************ GP-PRO/PB3 for Windows95 ML ************ ******************************************** ** ** ** Version:V2.06 ** ** ** ******************************************** Digital Electronics Corporation Foreword Thank you for purchasing the GP-PRO/PB3 for Windows95 ML software. This software allows you to use your personal computer to create graphical control panel screens for any GP-*70 Series device. Table of Contents (1) Product Usage Cautions (2) New Functions Overview (3) Differences from GP-PRO/PB3 DOS Version (4) About the Program Group (5) About the Uninstall (6) About the Setup for each PLC (1) Product Usage Cautions 1)If,while you are using this product, a "General Protection Error (Forced Shutdown)" occurs, performing the following steps and restarting your PC may allow you to avoid a forced shutdown. 1.When a Forced Shutdown message appears while you are creating screeens, modifying your hardware accelerator may allow you to avoid an actual forced shutdown. To modify your settings:Select the following [Start]->[Settings] ->[Control Panel]->[System]->[Perfomance]->[Graphics] area's. Hardware Accelerator Settings: Here, select the [Standard] setting and click on OK to record the change. 2.When Forced Shutdown occurs during Printing Re-installing the Printer's driver may allow you to avoid a forced shutdown. 3.When a Data Transfer Error Occurs If, during the GP's attempt to perform handshaking with the GP, the GP will not change over to Data Transfer mode, changing the Communications Port may allow you to avoid an error. „To change these settings:Select the [Start]->[Settings] ->[Control Panel]->[System]->[Device Manager]->(this windows's "Port(COM&LPT)"->[Communication Port]->[Port Settings]->[Details] -> Lower the "Communication Buffer" value. 2)When a GP unit is vertically installed, the panel's coordinates will differ from those used on the screen editor software. Therefore, when you enter screen coordinates using tags or D-script,please consider the GP's orientation. 3)When using a scaled up Tank Graph Part, the part numbers below might not be displayed properly. Try scaling the part by one dot in the horizontal direction. „Op4-3d01.pdb GR_3D007,GR_3D008,GR_3D010,GR_3D015,GR_3D017 „Op4-PL01.pdb GR_PL007,GR_PL008,GR_PL010,GR_PL015,GR_PL017 4)DXF Data Conversion The 4 point polygon drawn by GP,can not convert to DXF data correctly. 5)D-script's User-defined Function Name The strings below are reseved by D-script. They cannot be used as function names. "rise","fall","rise_expr","fall_expr","timer","set","clear","toggle" "if","else","endif","b_call","Bcall","dsp_rectangle","dsp_line" "dsp_dot","dsp_circle","dsp_arc","Call","and","or","not" (2)New Functions Overview 1)Simulation Feature Now,extensive debugging with a PLC is no longer necessary when creating a GP screen. 2)DXF Data Direct Compatibility Now,can use graphic data created by CAD aplications. 3)Expanded Project Manager This new feature greatly simplifies the management of screen and project data. You can move or copy each screen, and directly go to the editing mode by simply double-clicking on a screen. 4)Tank Graph/Meter Graph(except GP270) 5)g-Tag:Level Differentiation by Color(except GP270) 6)Trend Graph:Fill Below Line(except GP270) 7)Q-Tag:1 Second Interval Alarm Monitoring(except GP270) 8)Auto Backup of Sampling Data(except GP270) 9)Interlock Switches 10)D-script:User-Defined Functions(except GP270) 11)Smooth Scaling for Parts Each Part's size can be enlarged or reduced in dot units. 12)Moving a Tag name indpendently 13)Screen Load List 14)Full-color supported(GP571,GP675) 15)3 State Blink Speed Support(GP675) 16)Opening Different Screen Types Simultaneously 17)Transfer Protect Function(Using Password) 18)H-Tag:Drawing Function According to the host controller's data(specified by objects or cordinates),an image can be displayed on the PowerGP series panel screen. (3) Differences from GP-PRO/PB3 DOS Version 1) Text Drawing Order In the DOS version, the TEXT string is always displayed last. For example, when another object overlaps a text string, the text is always drawn on top of this object. In the Windows version, the text string will overlap the same as with the other objects. It will not be drawn on the top all of the time. If a rectangle is drawn on top of the text, the text will be behind the rectangle. It will not automatically be moved to the front. 2) About the Label Setting In the DOS version, each switch and lamp could have a label made up of four different lines of text. Each line could be individually moved, and the color/size changed. The Windows version combines the 4 labels into one text object. The labels are grouped together and the individual attributes cannot be changed. It is possible to center/justify the text as a whole. 3) About Tag name features that are not supported by the DOS version 1.This software allows Tags to have the same name. When you put some K-Tags on the same screen, it is adviseable that you have unique names so that you will not get confused with these K-tags. Please read the manual for more details. 2.Tag name is automatically placed on the upper-left corner of an object. Thus, you cannot move the Tag name's position. 3.The character size of the Tag name can be changed from 8x8 to 16x8. 4) How to create X screen within the Windows 95 version Because it is possible to copy directly from other editors with the cut & paste features, there is no need for a file conversion like the Dos version. 5) Opening Screen To open a screen within the DOS version, you must use the "+" and "-" buttons. However, you do not need to do this within the Windows 95 version. 6) In the DOS version, the 'Alt' key is used for drawing a perfect circle. In the Windows 95 version, the 'Ctrl' key is used instead. 7) In Windows 95 version when inputting numbers, you can select a button and a pop-up keypad will appear. 8) Auto Redraw function is only supported within the DOS version. (4)About Program Group ProPB3Win --|-- 1.Project Manager:Pmgr.Exe | |-- 2.File Convertor:Pbwfc.Exe | |-- 3.Rebuild:Rebuild.Exe | |-- 4.Pack Tool:Pbwpack.Exe | |-- Guided Tour | |-- ReadMe:Readme.Txt--This File | |-- Uninstall:See below „Mdostr.Exe -- DOS Transfer Tool „Gpanalyz.Exe -- Project file Separation file These 2 executable files are installed in the Folder (Default folder:ProPBWin). (5)About the Uninstallation „How to uninstall Execute [Start]->[Program]->[PROPB3WIN]->[Uninstall], GP-PRO/PB3 files will be deleted.Any files created by the user will not be deleted. The [Uninstall] command deletes all the library files(CPW and MRK files) included in this software, even after these files are edited,if their names have not been changed before the Uninstall is perfomed.
