******************************* GP-Pro EX V2.2 ******************************* September 2008 Digital Electronics Corp. Preface [Limitations] 1 Editor 2 Display Unit 3 Device/PLC 4 Win GP 5 GP-Viewer EX Contents ================================================================================ [Limitations] 1 Editor (Editor) - When the line with an arrow that has been registered in the package is used in Picture Display, the arrow cannot be displayed normally. - Reference information is not displayed normally in the Block Number Specification Address setting of Sampling. It can be displayed in the screen where the Block Number Specification Address setting is specified. - When Editor's Display Language is set to a language that is neither English nor Japanese, set-up items in GP3000 series VM Unit are displayed in English. (I/O Driver) - Communication is made in the unit of the PDO packet. In the whole system, up to 252 RxPDOs and TxPDOs are supported, individually. For mapping from TPDO4 and from RPDO4, up to 64 settings (all slaves settings) are available. - In PDO settings, "Project complication" error message may be displayed when more than 252 TPDO/RPDO are set up. Please set 252 or less TPDO/RPDO. - When a project is re-opened with PDO disabled, all information set to PDO are initialized. The initialized contents depend on the default settings on the salve unit, which may cause the object to be mapped. (Transfer Tool) - When the information of the display unit is checked with no project data in GP Unit, "Unable to read information" is displayed and GP Unit cannot communicate with the computer. Resetting the GP Unit enables the communication. 2 Display Unit (Runtime) - Animation features for Data Display (Input Display) are not supported. - Regarding Hue Animation in ST Series and GP-3200 Series, if a specified color is not available in the specified color setting, hues do not change. - When "Decimal Places" is set to "Address" and the number of decimal places is set to "0", you can enter "display digits plus one digit" number using Popup Keypad. However, an error will occur when you press the [Ent] key. - When transfer is performed while the Play Switch of Movie Player is repeatedly pressed, the Movie that is selected in File Manager after completion of transfer cannot be played. - On the screen where Data Block Display Graph and XY Block Display Scatter Graph are placed: It takes several tens of seconds to switch screens while communication with the Device/PLC discontinues. - When you update the text table without transferring data, the limit of characters depends on that of the text which is registered in Text Table on the display unit. When the number of characters is short, the shortage is filled in with the space. Therefore, the text including the space is aligned. - Prolonged FTP storage may cause storage failure. - Handy Conversion Adapter's machine No is reflected to the system variables 1 or 2 seconds later than the change. - In Historical Data Display, it may take some time until the cursor is displayed. - When a Fill Pattern such as Cross Pattern is used, filling with black cannot be made. To prevent this problem, take the following steps: System Settings > Display Unit > Extended Settings > Press [Compatibility]. > Turn the "Filling in Parts" checkbox to ON. - In the switch lamp with any of Lamp Display/Interlock Display/ Delay settings, a fixed picture cannot come to the front screen of the switch lamp for display. - When Memory Link Type (#MEMLINK) is the only Device/PLC, certain values (shown below) in the relay area of Slave cannot be acquired. Values other than those can be acquired from the corresponding system variables. - System Data Area (0 to 14) - Special Relay Area (2032 to 2034, 2037, 2039 to 2047, 2054, 2055, 2062 to 2073, 2075 to 2095) - 9000 Area (9000 to 9309, 9311 to 9399, 9528 to 9999) As for a countermeasure against this, you can add a device/PLC and obtain LS device to acquire values from the relay area of the LS device. - The total number to display the Text Display and Numeric Display, where "Address Type" or "Device Type Address" is specified, for a master and a slave at the same time, should be 100 or less. If the number is exceeded, heavy load is applied to communication and operation, which may cause slow operation and communication error. - In "Operation Lock": When "Timeout" is short or there is a slave/GP-Viewer EX whose response is slow to a master's operation lock notification, the system variable "#H_IsLockOwner" of the display unit that has locked other display units remains ON. - When Operation Log is set, transferring data may fail in the middle of the process, depending on the condition of the CF card. - In the models of GP-3300 Series (before Rev.*-4), new features as shown below in GP-Pro EX Ver.2.20 are disabled. - Animation - XY graph - Circular message - Ethernet Multilink - Selector list parts - To indirectly specify the upper/lower limits in Alarm Settings of Sampling Settings - Online password change (I/O Driver) - When a baud rate is changed, power of all equipment/devices connected to the CANopen network needs to be turned ON again. This applies to the salve device that has the automatic baud rate setting. 3 Device/PLC - When "120DPI" is specified for DPI settings in the temperature control driver, the "Reference to Parameter" dialog cannot be displayed normally. 4 Win GP - Thai is printed in the proportional font, the table or ruled lines (e.g. CSV Display) is broken. - In CSV data transfer: Even when data is transferred to the USB memory with no free space in the USB memory, no error occurs. - The arithmetic result in WinGP (Simulation) may be different from that of GP-Pro EX V2.10 or earlier. 5 GP-Viewer EX - Portrait display is not supported. (Do not rotate the display unit.) - When using double-byte characters for screen titles, it may not display correctly in the Change Panel switch dialog. - In Data Display/Text Display, "Device" or "Device Type/Address" is specified in the Address Type, the display may be different from the server right after the connection is established. - If Global Window is set to "Indirect" and the data format is set to "BCD", the following restrictions apply. - When Screen Mode is Asynchronous, moving the Global Window using Add or Subtract buttons to change X or Y coordinates does not operate properly. - When a JPG file name in CF card or USB stick storage has any null characters, the JPG file is not loaded. Replace the null characters with other characters. - Special Relay Area (LS2071-LS2074, LS2078-LS2095) cannot be written from the Viewer. - You cannot open or save the settings file which is already open. - When using a long path for the settings file storage location, the GP may fail in acquiring data from external storage due to operating system path length restrictions. Use short paths for the Settings file. - When "Write GP-Viewer Data" is set to "Disable", Viewer cannot lock the operation of Display Unit. - When GP-Viewer EX connects or re-connects to Display Unit, GP-Viewer EX sometimes displays different Alarms from those displayed on Display Unit. In this case, select "Screen Update" from the menu of GP-Viewer EX. ================================================================================ Warning: No part of this document may be used or reproduced without permission. ******************************End of Release Note*******************************
