GP-Pro EX

Pro-face has released an upgraded version of a screen editor for programmable display, GP-Pro EX, on the 10th of September. To solve issues in high-mix low-volume manufacturing and adoption of cell production system, Pro-face has focused on security, remote maintenance, cause analysis and operationality for people who work in industrial field and released the upgraded version as the result. Along with the upgraded GP-Pro EX, Pro-face has also released GP-Viewer EX, which enables to monitor a screen on GP from a remote area, and runtime software, Win GP for PC/AT, which enables to operate screen data created with GP-Pro EX on Windows PC.

It has been two years since the first release of GP-Pro EX September 2005 along with GP 3000 Series. Based on our customers' opinions and needs, we found out that, in manufacturing industry, there are challenges involving "people" in high-mix low-volume manufacturing and adoption of cell production system. To address the challenges, we, as the top manufacturer of programmable displays, have created the upgraded GP-Pro EX to improve efficiency of their work by adding new functions and enhancing the present functions with a concept of "HMI, which creates a field for people and leads people".

For the enhancement of security, with ID Management function, only authorized persons can log in and it can prevent information leakage. The individual authority setting for each operator is also possible. Moreover, by using the Operation Log function, the administrator can check who did the operation, when, and how.

Remote Maintenance enables to see operations and error status at the site from a remote area, in addition to performing and controlling the operations. It makes it possible to confirm the information gathered in the programmable display at the site. (To use this function, add-on software, GP-Viewer EX, is needed.)

For cause analysis, three functions are added: Alarm Linkage function, which enables to make cause investigation easy by obtaining alarm messages and device values in a controller connected when the alarm occurred, Trend Graph, which enables to display a chronological graph of collected data and past data as well, and Device Monitor function, which enables to monitor a connected controller device and change the values.

In operationality, time to open a file can be shortened by 50%. Moreover, the consumption of memory during operation is reduced by 50%, and it helps to improve operationality and reduce man-hour.
Also, by using runtime software, Win GP for PC/AT, to operate screen data created with GP-Pro EX on Windows PC is possible.

GP-Pro EX can be used for all our main series products. A wide range of interfaces for connection with a variety of controllers can be arranged. Therefore, it is possible to connect with PLCs of most of manufacturers without a program.
