On November 6th, Pro-face has released the FP3000 series line up consisting of 4 types, 7 models. New, fully functional front-facing USB interface is now available.

The FP-3710T, 15inch XGA display, is the most advanced model in the range and has the Type-A USB2.0 port situated at the front as standard. The previously complicated USB operations will be much user-friendly. Moreover high quality image is reproduced via a DVI terminal and the cable connection can be extended up to 10m. Thanks to this extension of the cable, it is now possible to integrate the display into large-scale machinery, which was difficult in the past.

Pro-face is proud of this new product’s solid performance and pleased to be able to offer a wide selection of flat panel displays. We will focus on built-in to various equipments such as machine tools, semiconductor-manufacturing equipments, inspection equipments and printing machinery, and try to expand sales in the market of information terminal facilities such as plant facilities, production control systems, instrumentation systems, building control systems, sound systems and amusement systems.

Brief

FP3000 series line-up is comprised of the 15”, 12.1” and 10.4” display sizes. The FP-3710T^*1, 15inch XGA display, is the most advanced model in the range and has Type-A USB2.0 port at the front of the display panel. Currently when working on the program maintenance or data backup, you are required to open and close the back panel of the display. However the FP-3710T possesses a front-facing USB port, which enables simple connection to the external storage such as USB memory, and easy operation of USB device while monitoring the display.

All the new models reproduce high quality images via a DVI port^*2. When FP-3710T or FP-3650T is connected with PS-2000B^*3 using a purpose-specific cable, the connection can be extended up to 10m, therefore it is possible to integrate the display into large-scale machinery.

“Auto-Adjust Function” has also been incorporated, which allows the user to adjust the screen to the correct position with a single touch for operational purposes and safety.

In addition to the functions above, Analog RGB interface, Serial interface and USB interface for touch panel operation have also been equipped. Naturally, they are eco-friendly and RoHS-compliant^*4.

*2 DVI: a video interface standard when connecting with personal computer and display panel. Even with a host
computer such as personal computer (other than PS-2000B), the cable connection can be extended up to 5m by
using Pro-face DVI-D cable.
*3 PS-2000B: Built-in computer manufactured by Pro-face. A box type with no display, which can be customized
according to user needs.
*4 RoHS-compliant: The RoHS directive restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and
electronic equipment. The substances identified as hazardous are Pb (lead), Cd (cadmium), Cr6+ (hexavalent
chromium), Hg (mercury), PBB (polybrominated biphenyls) and PBDE (polybrominated diphenyl ethers), a total of
6 materials. In EU nations, RoHS Directive has already become effective as of July 2006.

Features

1. Front-facing USB interface

FP-3710T has a USB2.0 port on the front surface, which enables high-speed data transfer. Data maintenance using keyboard and backup to USB memory are far more simplistic. Moreover Pro-face not only offers the front-facing USB to FP-3710T but also to other models as an alternative option. On top of this, Digital is also offering standard display panels without a front-facing USB interface for customers who emphasize security.

2. High quality display with DVI port

High quality display can be realized with DVI port. When FP-3710T or FP-3650T is connected with PS-2000B using a purpose-specific cable, the connection can be extended up to 10m; therefore it is possible to integrate the display into large-scale machinery. Moreover when the DVI-D is connected with a host computer, connection can be extended by up to 5m. Even with a host computer such as personal computer, the cable connection can be extended up to 5m by using Pro-face DVI-D cable.

3. User friendly new function

The “Auto-Adjust Function” allows the display to be adjusted to the correct position with a single touch.

4. RoHS Directive compliance

By not using certain hazardous substances restricted by European Union, Pro-face focuses on environmental consideration and meets export requirements. Moreover we will also focus on the other existing products and future products of ours to be compliant with RoHS Directive.

6. Equivalent to the IP65f’s environmental resistance

For the industries that were subject to dust, oil mist, vibration of machinery and high temperature, the FP3000 series’ panel surface has been improved to the equivalent of the IP65’s environment resistance.

7. A wide range of interfaces for connection with a variety of peripherals

Substantial expansion of DVI, USB and RGB interfaces has been achieved with the new panel displays as standard, which can be connected with industrial and personal computers.
