Pro-face, a leader in Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and factory data communication products, designed and produced by Digital Electronics Corporation - global head office Osaka, Japan, announces the new GP2000H Series of graphic operator interfaces. Three new GP2000H Series models, the GP-2301HS, GP-2301HL, and GP-2401HT will be released in April, 2002.

These new GP2000H Series models are lightweight, hand-held pendant terminals that provide easy touch operation of graphic screens. These units are equipped with a serial port and a Compact FlashTM card socket. CF Cards allow easy storage and handling of production data, and simplify maintenance of screen data.
To provide a world-class level of safety, each GP2000H is equipped with a number of safety features, including a 3-contact Emergency Switch, and a 3-mode, 2-contact Enable Switch. Create redundant and inverted circuits in your system using the Emergency Switch's single NO and two NC contacts. Also, when an accident occurs and the operator is startled, the GP2000H unit's unique, 3-mode Enable Switch helps to prevent accidental operation, since the switch is activated only when held lightly in its intermediate, half-pressed position. Designed to meet world-wide standards for pendant terminals, these new GP2000H Series models help you maximize your system's level of safety.
Two additional safety features are a motor that vibrates the unit and alerts the operator to an alarm, and membrane-type function switches. Especially useful in areas with high levels of noise or when the operator is looking away from the display and cannot see alarm messages, the vibration feature is easily set using the screen editor software. The tactile feedback provided by the front face's raised, membrane-type function switches allow the operator to confidently operate the unit while looking away from the screen to monitor machine movement. The functions performed by these switches are easily set via the screen editor software. (GP-2401HT: 16 switches, GP-2301HS/GP-2301HL:12 switches)
GP2000H Series models are built rugged for use in harsh industrial environments. They conform to IEC61141-2 standards and can survive a drop from 1 meter. The case's moisture and oil resistance is equivalent to IP65f, and each optional cable has a thick, heavy-duty cover that reduces wear and damage from every-day factory floor use and prevents cutting and breakage. Also available are two optional wall-mount cable adapters (RS-232C and RS-422), each with its own power switch. These adapters allow an operator to easily unplug the GP2000H, carry it to another location and use it there. To help prevent operator fatigue, an optional wall-mount bracket and neck strap are also available.
The GP-2401HT, with its bright 6.5-inch 256-color VGA (640 x 480) TFT display, allows you to display a large amount of screen data. The GP-2301HS is equipped with a 5.7-inch STN color display that provides 1/4 VGA (320 x 240), and the GP-2301HL is equipped with a 5.7-inch monochrome LCD display.
Easily create sophisticated HMI screens for your GP2000H Series units with Pro-face's screen editor software GP-PRO/PB III C-Package01 or GP-PRO/PB III for Windows Ver. 6.0. These easy-to-use, powerful software packages allow you to quickly create project screens by selecting and pasting from a library of over 2,000 pre-made "Parts". The new "multi-language" table feature allows you to enter different languages in up to 16 tables and create multi-language screens. While the GP is operating, simply touch a screen icon to switch tables and display a different language. Also, new "image fonts" allow you to use Windows fonts to create easy-to-read screen text. Each GP2000H Series model provides world-wide compatibility with over 26 manufacturers and 100 types of controllers, from PLCs to temperature controllers and inverters. Additionally, all three models are CE marked and UL/c-UL(CSA) recognized.
