Performance and Reliability Up of Pro-face Industrial PC

Pro-face, a leader of HMI and factory data communication products, designed and produced by Digital Electronics Corporation, global head office at Osaka, Japan, releases new series models of PL-X920 Series.
PL-X920 Series is designed to meet the demands for reliable operation of PC applications on factory floors. PL-X920 Series offers high performance with a number of reliability features in compact body packages, as well as standard touch panel operation.
All-in-one models of PL-X920 Series are updated. All of updated models are equipped with Pentium® III 700MHz CPU, 128MB RAM, 10Base-T/100Base-TX and USB. PL-6920T comes with 12-inch SVGA TFT display with enhanced brightness and 4 ISA/PCI expansion slots, while 2 expansion slots are given to PL-6921T for compactness. PL-7920T is equipped with 15-inch XGA TFT display with 4 expansion slots, and PL-7921T with 2 expansion slots. All PL-X920 models support Windows®95/Windows®98/Windows®2000 and WindowsNT®.
The most unique feature with PL-X920 Series is the cartridge-type IDE drive slots for HDD, FDD and CF-card Drives. Up to 2 drive systems can be selected for simultaneous operation. As well as user selection of most suitable configuration of drive systems for his applications, the drive slots allows minimized replacement and maintenance time for precious data on the storage devices, especially for use in industrial environments.
Furthermore, data mirroring is available on all PL-X920 models, with optional Mirror Disk Unit or Software Mirroring Utility, when used with WindowsNT® or Windows®2000. Precious production data can be automatically saved on 2 hard disk drives. When a trouble occurs on a HDD, the PL operation will be switched to another HDD, without stopping its operation. The damaged disk can be replaced at the next maintenance time or whenever it is convenient for the user.
For PL’s own reliability, the RAS, Reliability, Availability, Serviceability, utility and I/F are equipped with all PL-X920 models. The RAS utility monitors PL’s internal operation conditions. When abnormal data from preset values is detected on the PL unit, an output signal can turn on a lamp or buzzer to warn operators for inspection.
All of PL-X920 models are physically compatible with the previous PL-X900 models, in means of panel cutout and external dimensions. Systems with the previous PL units can be updated or maintained using the latest PL-X920 Series with minimal checks and changes, if required.
